A community based mental health center, operated by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, which provides an array of innovative clinical and community support services to individuals with a psychiatric disability, in many cases with co-occurring problems of substance abuse.

Hartford Behavioral Health (HBH) is a private, non-profit community agency providing outpatient behavioral health services to adults and children in the greater Hartford area for over 40 years. At the core of our work is a dedicated trauma informed clinical team whom employ evidence based therapeutic treatment modalities to cultivate healing, happiness and goal attainment.

The Behavioral Health Department provides services geared toward children, adolescent, and adults. The Department is staffed with licensed clinicians (LCSW, LMSW, LPC and LMFT) and board certified APRN’s and Psychiatrists with extensive clinical training in mental health and substance abuse.

Our walk-in Urgent Crisis Center (UCC) provides outpatient services for children and teens who are experiencing an urgent mental or behavioral health crisis, including:

Thoughts of suicide or self-injury (that doesn’t require medical attention)
Feelings of depression, anxiety or hopelessness
Out-of-control behaviors
Substance misuse
Any mental health crisis
No appointment or referral is necessary.
