Voter Registration

Your Vote Matters!

Voting Forms

We recommend that you enclose the downloaded voter registration application in an envelope, as the US Postal Service cannot guarantee the intact delivery of a form printed on standard office paper.

You are not a voter until your application is approved by the Registrar of Voters. You should receive a confirmation within 3 weeks. If you do not, contact the Registrar in your town hall.

Connecticut has two major parties: Republican & Democrat

Connecticut also has numerous minor parties and a 3-month waiting period for switching parties.

Registration Cut-off: Registration by mail cut-off is eighteen (18) days before the election or primary. You may be able to register in person up until noon the day before the primary. For general elections, Connecticut offers Same Day Registration during the early voting period and on Election Day.

Are you Eligible to Vote?

Are you eligible to vote?

  1. Are you at least 17 and turning 18 before Election Day?

  2. Are you a United States citizen living in Connecticut?

  3. If you have been convicted of a felony, have you completed confinement and parole? (More details)

If you can answer yes to all three of these questions, you are eligible to register to vote in Connecticut. More info...
