If you are interested in applying for a passport and this is not an emergency, please be aware that you will experience significant delays before receiving your new passport and the return of your original citizenship documents. It is strongly recommended that you wait until processing times are posted from the US Department of State before submitting new or renewal applications as delays will continue. If this is a life-or-death emergency, please visit the agency’s website below to schedule an appointment with them.
The Hartford Public Library will begin their reopening phase starting July 13th. If you wish to make an appointment for a passport, please call 860-695-1494 (en español 860-695-6328) or email firstname.lastname@example.org to speak with the scheduling agent. All appointments must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19 and for your protection, all customers on site for appointments will be required to observe the following protocols:
Customers must appropriately wear masks or face coverings,
A designated staff person will meet the customer at the Main Street Entrance and accompany the customer to the approved location.
To keep appointments as brief as possible and lessen exposure time, all forms must be filled out before your scheduled appointment.
Only one person will attend the appointment.
If the passport is for a child, only the parents/guardians and the child (up to a family of 5) will attend the appointment.
Customer may not bring food or drink with them
All must maintain social distance - at least 6-ft apart at all times
Customer must complete a COVID-19 Health-Assessment questionnaire administered by the scheduler at entrance.
A client/customer experiencing any of the symptoms according to the questionnaire will not be permitted to enter and will be provided a resource sheet for COVID assistance.
