U. S. Passport Services at HPL

Passport services at HPL have been resumed by appointment only.

• HPL does not offer passport renewal services for adults or 1-2 day delivery service.
• Appointment hours are from 9:00AM to 3:00PM from Monday to Friday at the Dwight Branch Library.

ALL PAYMENTS TO THE US DEPARTMENT OF STATE MUST BE A CHECK OR MONEY ORDER ONLY.

Routine Service - 6-8 weeks

• Routine service can take up to 13 weeks from the day an application is submitted to the day a new passport is received. 

• Application fee: $130 - Payable to U.S. Department of State (Under age 16: $100)   
• Execution fee: $35 - Payable to Hartford Public Library 

Expedited Service - 2-3 weeks

• Expedite service can take up to 9 weeks from the day an application is submitted to the day a new passport is received. 

• Application fee: $190 - Payable to U.S. Department of State (Under age 16: $160)   

• Execution fee: $35 - Payable to Hartford Public Library 

For an additional fee, you can purchase a passport card valid for travel by land and by sea only—not valid for air travel.
Adult card fee: $30 (Under Age 16: $15)
