Book a Librarian Appointment

If you need the link to the form, you can also access it HERE

To be respectful toward our library staff and other customers, please try to be on time for your appointment. Please feel free to cancel an hour before your appointment by calling the Downtown Library at (860) 695-6300 . If you miss 2 appointments without informing a library staff member, you’ll forfeit the right to schedule additional designated appointments. You will still be able to come to the library to receive help as it is available when you arrive. Library staff members offering appointments reserve the right to reschedule or cancel at any time.

Reference Services

Need some HPLCT Reference Help? Here are some of the types of questions and information searches we can help you with.

  • Research for an essay topic for a high school or college class. Including help finding a topic and narrowing it down as well as formatting and citation help.
  • Using our library databases to track down Hartford Historical information and obituary information. We also can use our access to our Hartford History Center located in the library - https://hplct.libguides.com/hhc-resources
  • Our library databases are varied and cover a great deal of content. https://www.hplct.org/online-education-research/research-tools. We can use these to find general or detailed information on numerous queries.
  • If we cannot find answers for you using our resources, we have some access to other resources, such as the Connecticut State Library -https://ctstatelibrary.org/ and others.
